Pond Hockey - Eastern Canadian Championships, 2009
When: Friday 13th to Sunday 15th February, 2009 Where: Centennial Park, St. George, Moncton
Get ready for a fantastic weekend of pond hockey in Moncton with PUCK ‘ER UP! Source for Sports Eastern Canadian Championships. The emphasis will be fun and participation with eight rinks will be
built for the tournament. Two more "community rinks" will also be
constructed so non-tournament players can drop in for a pick-up game.
Divisions: Open, corporate and over 35
Teams of four or five players can register for the event although only four players will be on the ice at one time.
Organizers are also working with officials from the Ford Men's World
Curling Championship, scheduled for the Coliseum in April, for a
special promotion. Two outdoor curling sheets will be built and
spectators will be encouraged to try the game. February 13th: - Free sliding, skating pick-up hockey, and cross-country skiing (all weekend long!) - Source for Sports Eastern Canadian Pond Hockey Championship opening ceremony: 3:45pm
February 14th: - Free sleigh rides: 12 - 4pm & 6 - 9pm - Live rink-side entertainment by Doghouse: 5 - 9pm
February 15th: - Free sleigh rides: 12 - 4pm - Special visit by your Moncton Wildcats! - Magic 104 broadcasts live from the Park from 12 - 4pm
The Pond Hockey championship game will take place early afternoon on Sunday.

2008 was the first year and the event attracted 32 teams; organisers hope to attract up to 64 teams this year.
